The MusiCares® and GRAMMY Foundation's® Teen Substance Abuse Awareness through Music Contest Winners (2011) were announced on October 28th, and 2ndplace was won by Kevin , who recorded his song “My Way” while at the Healing Lodge of the Seven Nations.  17-year-old Kevin is thrilled he will be traveling to the Grammy rehearsals in January, along with a guest and back-stage passes.  Kevin’s story is typical of the youth who come to the Healing Lodge to learn about the issues that brought them to treatment.  Follow the links below to learn about this amazing young man’s story.

The Healing Lodge of the Seven Nations sponsors Chris Herren at Hoopfest 2012

Chris Herren is a former NBA Basketball player, an author and motivational speaker. He was drafted in the 2nd round of the 1999 NBA draft by the Denver Nuggets, and after one year was traded to the Boston Celtics in 2000. Herren struggled with substance abuse for much of his basketball career, but is happy to say he’s been alcohol and drug-free since August 1, 2008.
