Many of the young people that come to The Healing Lodge only bring the clothes on their back. Oftentimes, the youth’s family doesn’t have the means to provide certain amenities.
Donations to The Children’s Fund help families get their children to and from treatment. They allow us to give residents basic necessities such as shoes, clothing, toothpaste, shampoo, and deodorant. They fund program enhancements such as GED testing and off site recreational activities. These are meaningful supplies and considerations that are not covered by funding from Indian Health Services and Washington State’s Department of Behavioral Health Resources.
Each donation helps these youth feel welcome and cared for when they come to The Healing Lodge, and when basic needs are addressed, residents and their families can focus on developing an individual treatment program and starting on the path to recovery.
